Gratitude

"If you don't feel grateful for what you have, what makes you think you'll be happy with more?"

I love that little quote, although I don't know who said it. It really makes a lot of sense. I mean if aren't grateful for what you have, how will you be grateful for anything.

How many times have you said to yourself, once I get that pay raise, meet the right companion, achieve the next goal, then, yes that is when I will be happy?

We have all done it and it would be OK if we could just drop the "then I will be happy" part off the sentance. You should have goals and things you want to accomplish, it is part of being human. That is what gives you purpose. But you need to stop relying on those accomplishments to make you happy.

Here is your action point for today. Look back on all the thing you HAVE done and all the things you do HAVE and feel good about it.

Just think...if you want what you have, then you have what you want.

You are a Creator

Your World is Your Creation

Most of us believe that we are separate individuals experiencing the same (or similar) objective reality. In this understanding, we seek consensus with others about the nature of the reality we all share - and we call this reality our world. When we experience dysfunction or challenge, we attribute this to some quality or aspect of the world. For example, if we receive a parking ticket, we commonly blame the person or institution from which it came. If we become ill, we often trace the cause to someone else from whom we "caught" it.

In this paradigm, the world is seen as an external collection of forces and circumstances acting upon us in various ways. In response, we seek to control (or at least make sense of ) what we experience as separate from ourselves. When things go as we wish, we consider ourselves "lucky" or deserving. When we are challenged or under duress, we feel we are unlucky or unworthy.

But, in a more truthful understanding, we find that things may not be as they appear on the surface. It has been suggested by many individuals from a more "awareness-based" perspective, that the world is as we are, and our reality is simply a reflection of what we believe it to be. This is quite a revelation for most of us, because it means that we actually create our world, rather than our world creating us. This places us in a position of great potential power (and responsibility), but it is up to us whether or not to make use of it. Once we understand that our world is our own creation, we are free to create it differently (or not) as we see fit.

This week, let us bring focus to another way of living in relation to our world. Whatever comes into our experience, whether it be a person, situation or simply an event, consider that it is an opportunity to choose. Choose what? Choose to accept your experience as your own creation or else see it as something separate from yourself. For this week, whenever you remember, just try an attitude of acceptance and see what happens....

The Power of Breath

I just received this short article on the breath from Synchronicity and wanted to share it with you.

During this holiday season when things get tense, remember the breath and its power.
-----------------------------------------

The Breath

Breathing is one of the most basic of human functions. It is always with us, whether we are awake or sleeping…. working or relaxing…. it is a constant in our lives. We can leave it as an automatic function of the body or bring laser-like focus to each breath and use it as a powerful, meditative technique.

The breath is a wonderful tool to observe the oscillation of polarities. All of existence is in a vibratory dance back and forth between polarized opposites. We cannot have light without darkness…. Being without Becoming…. positive without negative. Likewise, we cannot have the in-breath without the out-breath. The breath is not just one polarity…. the inhalation is in partnership with the exhalation and like all aspects of existence, the two polarities function optimally when in a state of balance.

Observe in this moment whether your in-breath is the same length and duration as your out-breath. Notice whether there is harmony and symmetry between your breathing or if the two polarities are disconnected from each other. The in-breath and out-breath is a connected flow. When the two functions are in harmony, there is corresponding balance within the Primary Trinity of mind, emotions and body.

We can transform the breath into an affirmation by observing its dynamism. On the in-breath, affirm its "Being nature".… as fresh air enters the inner, subjective world. Then, on the out-breath, affirm the "Becoming nature"…. as the stale air is released into the outer world. Follow this process for a few moments and then, see if you can also bring awareness to the gaps between the in-breath / out-breath and the out-breath / in-breath and experience the stillness that is at the interchange between the two polarities.

For this week, practice bringing awareness to the play of oscillating polarities by observing the movement of breath in, out and through the body. That which is so close and obvious can be a doorway to greater wholeness.

Deep Release - A Healing CD

Deep Release is the culmination of over 10 years of research and over 500 individual personal attunement Cd's.

This latest recording of healing music was designed to address the need for a non-invasive treatment for physical /emotional trauma resulting from injury, pain, and mental anguish. The intent of Deep Release is to bring forth through sound and music, an environment suitable for the listener to begin the healing process.

When we are in a state of physical and emotional trauma, the mind-body-spirit collapes into a heighten condition of tension and stress. This can lead to higher blood pressure, shallow breathing, muscle stiffness, and mental confusion. In order to facilitate the road to wellness, the body /mind/spirit has to undergo a change in this rigidity.

Deep Release is music designed to initiate a dramatic change in these conditions and allow the body/mind/spirit to begin the healing process.

Think of this as the ultimate meta-massage!

This personal attunement CD is based on the premise that we are connected to all things. In order to fully access this arrangement, we must be relaxed and coherent. This special music helps to bring about this condition through two very important laws of physics. Namely, the laws of entrainment and resonance.

Entrainment is the ability for one person to follow in step with another. An example of this is when a master drummer plays a rhythm, a beginning student will soon follow in the exact same beat. When the ebb and flow rhythm of Deep release is experienced, the listener's breathing patterns are entrained to a slower rate affecting both the heart rate ,blood pressure and brain wave activity.

The other law is that of resonance. When we hear a deep drum for example, we will feel it. When two people are on the "same wavelength" they are thought to be in sync and in resonance. We have all seen the crystal glass shatter when someone sings the exact pitch. When we are physically and emotionally well, we are able to function normally because we are "in tune". Any imbalance can cause us to lose this coherency and we become deficient, much like a sailor with scurvy due to a lack of vitamin C!

Deep Release is tuned to A flat which is known as the singers "key". This also happens to be the pitch of the moon as it relates to the earth. It also correspond to the higher octave of orange, a wavelength that has a positive effect on cell rejuvenation! This relates directly to the human energy field.

This evocative music was composed from a huge collection of world instruments and specifically chosen for their psycho acoustic properties. It was recorded with state of the art technology allowing for the manipulation of pitch and of pulsed wave modulations.

While listening to Deep Release , many people become relaxed, bringing forth beneficial changes in the mind, body and spirit. In addition, many have had transformative and healing experiences.

--Brian Paulson

Wow! That was the first thing that came to mind after listening to Brian's new CD. Wonderful, inspiring and beautiful were a few more.

This is essential healing music. Check it out now. Deep Release

Meditation Music - Day 6 - Sleep and more – The Delta Connection

A delta state has long been associated with sleep. If you have trouble sleeping, then CDs targeting this range will help immensely. Having a CD that targets the delta brainwaves will allow you to enter a deep sleep state easily. It will be time to say goodbye to insomnia!

Recently there has also been some research that suggests that an even deeper
meditative state can occur during predominate delta wave activity. As you gain
experience and comfort with meditation, you may want to try reaching a delta
state during meditation.

Here are some titles to try:
  • Delta Sleep System – A 2 CD set specifically designed to help you sleep through the night. Highly recommended.

  • Delta Bliss – Generate an ultra-deep unified brain state.

Conclusion
You will be amazed when you realize how you can enrich your life with these CDs. You will find yourself looking forward to your time spent listening to these CDs.

Meditation Music - Day 5 - Finding the Higher Self – The Theta Connection

A deep meditative state is true bliss. Increase your Theta waves and you are on your way to this state. In the Theta state you can lose your attachment to the physical body. You will feel a deep sense of physical relaxation. This disconnect of mind and body allows you to focus on the inner you, the higher self. This is the ideal state to begin your meditation journey.

And please realize that this IS a journey.

These CDs do work and will put you in a trance state, but that is only half thebattle. The other half is with you. First, you need to set aside some time each day (okay, how about 4 or 5 days a week) to meditate. It doesn’t have to be for an hour; fifteen minutes is better than nothing! The other thing you need to do is really let yourself go. This is your time.

There are many excellent choices that will guide you into this deep contemplative state. Here are a few:
  • Vantage Quest – Reach the inner depths of your being with pure sound. If you find music distracting then this is for you. There is no music, just sound frequencies. Very soothing!
  • Brainwave Suite – A great set of 4 CDs with meditations ranging from Alpha to Delta and everything in between. One of my favorites and a perfect starter set.
  • Sacred Ground – Another perfect starter set. 2 CDs from Brain Sync.

Don't wait, start your meditation routine today. Take some action get a CD or if you don't have the cash just go through your current CD colletion and find some peaceful music. Put in on and spend a half an hour relaxing. It will pay off!

Meditation Music - Day 4 - The Alpha Brain State

Focus, Creativity and Concentration – The Alpha connection
A predominance of Alpha waves in the brain is associated with accelerated learning, focus and enhanced creativity. When you are focused on something, you probably have a predominance of Alpha waves. No matter what your profession or hobby, these attributes will increase your productivity and enhance your experience.

Some of you may be thinking that Focus is not the same thing as creativity. That is true. Notice that we said a “predominance” of Alpha waves will put you in the desired state. A CD that helps you focus will not only have Alpha waves, but also some Beta waves to keep you alert. A creativity CD will contain mostly Alpha with some Theta. Luckily for us, talented individuals have created CDs that contain the perfect mix for each state.

For help in focus and concentration check out the following:

Help with your studies (Focus and Concentration):

  • Remembrance – Beautiful music will guide you to peak performance.

  • Einstein’s Dream – Mozart's
Sonata for 2 piano’s with embedded frequencies. One of my favorites.

  • Deep Learning – Stimulate your memory receptors and neural pathways with this Brain Sync title.

  • Concentration – Pure
sound that will give you a laser-like focus.

For a light meditative experience to enhance creativity:

It is well worth you time to develop a habit of meditation. You will see an increase in peace and an ability to handle what the world dishes out with ease.

The above titles are excellent for anyone looking to make learning easier.

Meditation Music - Day 3 - Pure sound

I love binaural technology and I think it one of the best and most economical ways to achieve a deep meditative state. But it does have one drawback and that is the fact that you need to listen through headphones or stereo separated speakers.

So, is there any other way to reach a blissful and fully relaxed state? Of Course! Yogis and Shamans have been doing it for thousands of years without any music at all. It just took them years of dedicated practive to learn how to do it.

But if you are in a bind and don't have any headphones, all is not lost. Even if music doesn't have binaural beats, it can still assist you in your meditation sessions.

Music in general evokes deep emotions. You just need to find the music that evokes the relaxation response. For some this is Bach, others it could be a new age music such as Steven Halpern.

My favorite is music with deep bass tones that resonate within your body. If this appeals to you then you must try CDs from Jonathan Goldman. A master of tibetan chanting.

I often will alternate my meditation session with binaural enhanced CDs and regular relaxation music. The key here is to experiment and have fun.

Tomorrow - CDs for the Alpha brain state.

Meditation Music - Day 2 - Achieving brainwaves you desire

Is it possible?
So if we could create a brainwave pattern that was associated with a particular state, could we create that state in the brain and hence the individual? Research shows that the answer is yes!

How do I get my brain into these states?
Yogis and Shamans spend years practicing meditation techniques to learn to induce deepstates of meditation. These meditative states are usually associated with low Theta Waves. They work diligently quieting the mind and coaxing their brain into the different states. However, with the use of specialized CDs embedded with binaural beat frequencies, you can achieve these same states in a just few sessions.

Binaural Beat Technology
It was found that the brain will resonate with, or match, a frequency when that frequency is introduced via sound. This is called the follow-response effect. The only problem was that the frequencies for these brainwave patterns are below our threshold for hearing. To overcome this limitation, binaural beat technology was invented. It was found that if you presented two different frequencies, one in each ear, the brain interprets the difference in frequencies and "hears" that frequency. For example, if you played 400Hz in the right ear and 410Hz in the left ear, the brain would "hear" a 10Hz frequency. This is exactly what binaural beat technology does. It is usually masked with music or some other soothing background sounds.

Tomorrow - Acheiving brainwaves patterns without binaural beats

Meditation Music - Day 1 - What can it do for you

Over the next few days I'm going to explain the different types of meditation music and how these types of music work to enhance your meditative state.

The meditative state is a natural one. Every day your brain goes through many different states. Each state is needed and useful. Today I will discuss these states and how they affect you.

What are brainwaves?
Every moment of your life your brain is active. It is pulsing with electrical impulses, yes electricity! The electricity or electrical current generated by the brain can be measured with an electroencephalogram (EEG), which measures the frequency of the electrical current. The frequency or speed of the brainwave is measured in Hertz(Hz).

These frequencies can be associated with our state of mind at any particular moment. This means that your state of mind, for example relaxed, frightened, or sleepy is associated to your brainwave frequencies at that moment. The speed of the frequency allows us to categorize our brainwaves into 4 broad categories.

What are the different Brainwave Patterns?
There are four common brainwave patterns that have been well researched to date.
They are:
  • Beta 14Hz to 20Hz. Beta waves are associated with normal waking
consciousness. They are present when you are focused on activities in the outside world.

  • Alpha 8Hz to 13Hz. Alpha waves are likened to a light meditation.
They are prevalent when you daydream. They will become stronger when
    your eyes are closed.

  • Theta 4Hz to 7Hz. Theta waves occur during heightened states of creativity
and are found with a deep meditative state.

  • Delta - .5Hz to 3Hz. Delta waves are found in a deep sleep state or
unconsciousness. Also, delta waves are common in very deep meditation.

Intention

Here is another great article from Synchronicity.
---------------------------------------------------
Intention

Perhaps you are familiar with the saying, "Whatever you place your attention upon, grows." Another way of saying the same thing is, "What you believe is what you receive." What does this mean? It refers to the power of belief and intention in manifesting your reality. On a practical level, it places responsibility on you for everything in your world. That may sound a bit overwhelming to most people, but experience shows that sooner or later, we tend to manifest what we think and believe. And, in order to purposefully manifest anything, we must first be very focused in our intention.

Here is a simple way to demonstrate this principle for yourself: Take a few minutes of quiet time and have paper and pencil handy. Write down three things that you desire to experience that are not currently in your life now. They should not be things that you can simply do directly on your own, such as mowing the lawn. Nor should they be too far-fetched, such as becoming president of the United States.

Rather, they should be the kind of intentions that would require something more than just your personal, immediate efforts to fulfill. For example, you may have lost contact with a friend or relative and wish to re-establish your relationship with him or her. Or, you may have lost something valuable and wish to locate it. Once you have written down your three intentions on a piece of paper, keep it with you, and whenever you remember, read it over several times. Do this throughout the day, especially upon rising in the morning, as you are about to go to sleep at night and whenever you have a spare moment or two. Do this for seven days and see how many of your intentions have become fulfilled. It may take more time than just one week, or in some cases, intentions can manifest almost immediately. See what you discover in this simple exercise.
---------------------------------------------------

I have found a great resource that expands on the idea of intention and breathes life into the subject of manifesting all your desires. I have been a member of the Wealth Beyond Reason course for over a year and find the ebooks and audio files a great help in creating my life instead of just letting it happen.

Check it out, it may be just what you are looking for. Wealth Beyond Reason
